We’re capable of telling our own stories, of telling stories buried deep within; to connect, to express, to liberate. We’re capable of so much more…
With the immense pressure of a globalized world and a peek-through-prejudiced-lens approach of relating to people and society, there is a need to tell the ‘African story’, from the African perspective. The continent is continually plagued by economic critiques, political analysts and cultural skeptics; We are told who we are, why we are underdeveloped, why our institutions are mediocre, why our culture isn’t sophisticated enough…

Invisible Borders is all about TELLING the world, who we are, as Africans, through photography, writing, films and other artistic interventions . This art-led initiative was founded in Nigeria in 2009 by a group of passionate artists – mostly photographers – with a drive and urge to effect change in the society. The group has successfully organized trips, workshops, conferences and exhibitions in Bamako (2009), Lagos (2009 and 2010), Abuja (2010), Dakar (2010), Addis Ababa (2010), Bern Museum Switzerland (2010), Berlin (April2011), New York (2012)
