It was all fun at the Movenpick ambassador hotel on 16th march,2013 as the third edition of BABYFEST dubbed “Eat,Sleep,Drink N’ Poo” was held by Ticklz N’ Gigglz Events.

The three (3) part event comprising of a baby fair, baby summit and maternity fashion show, brought together prospective parents, new parents, baby lovers and the whole family under one roof to shop, mingle, share ideas and have fun.

The baby fair started at 10 am with a lot of games and fun activities for kids. There were vendors with clothes and products for kids and pregnant women from brands like Cussons Baby, Haute Mummy, Fab ‘n’ Fit Momz, lil steps, Kid Connexion and many others.

The baby summit was held between 12pm to 2pm and had real moms and dads come together to share stories and ideas about pregnancy, childcare and family. They also discussed challenges parents face, bringing up their kids; education and financial policies. This year’s summit was merged with the first episode shoot of The Esi Yankah Show.

The final part of the event, the maternity fashion show, took place from 4pm to 6pm. The fashion show had a different twist this year, as it took an interactive turn, with designers explaining the reasons for each design and the type and colour of fabric used as the models walked. Kid models were not left out as they thrilled the audience in their cute outfits.  Showcasing designers included; Arinda Clothing, Afri-Ken Novelty, Diva Delicious and Afiyo Creations.

It was a successful event by all standards, very well organized, full of excitement and a perfect way for any young family to spend their day.
Kudos to Miss Esi Yankah, founder of Ticklz N’ Gigglz Events for putting together an a amazing event geared towards the family.Looking forward to a much more exciting one next year.

WE’VE GOT YOU COVERED!

I have known people who took a liking to one fashion item or the other. For some men, that perfect socks is what they need/crave to finish off their statement look (even if the socks isn’t seen at all). Others pride in beautiful lingerie, handbags, earrings, bow ties….etc. It is not strange then, that others go all out for bespoke umbrellas. And if you live anywhere in Europe or outside Europe but have a reliable delivery system  and lot’s of money to spare on a guilty pleasure such as buying bespoke pieces, then this is the man who’s got you covered, Michel Heurtault.

His designs; pour homme & femme  ranges from the conventional silk to lace, print fabric, ostrich feather, etc.
Women’s collection from €250; men’s from €450.
Bespoke from €1,200. Exceptional pieces with precious materials from €3,000.

DENIM & LEATHER – STREET STYLE REPORT (SOUTH AFRICA)

DENIM & LEATHER
WHAT'S TRENDING IN SOUTH AFRICA
THIS MONTH OF MARCH, 2013

I have been on the look out for street style this month. If I had a Nikon D7000, I probably would have been able to capture what I see on a daily basis. So here, are styles I sampled from different sites and blogs. All fresh March 2013. Some of them were taken during the recently held Mercedes-Benz Fashion week in Cape Town, South Africa.
